Fire Strategy & Smoke Ventilation Review

Butler & Young Associates were appointed to undertake a comprehensive review of the fire strategy and automatic smoke ventilation (AOV) systems within a multi-storey residential building in London.

The project involved assessing the existing smoke ventilation arrangements alongside a detailed review of available design information. Through a combination of site inspections and targeted investigations, our team developed a clear understanding of the system layout, performance, and integration within the wider fire strategy.

Where required, specialist survey techniques were utilised to support the identification of system routes and discharge locations, ensuring a thorough and informed assessment.

Following the review, Butler & Young provided clear, practical recommendations to support system optimisation and alignment with current fire safety guidance. This included advice on potential upgrades and alternative solutions where appropriate.

The project enabled the client to take a proactive and informed approach to fire safety management and future improvement works.
